BICC Research & Engineering 1985 -1987

This was some time ago, so very briefly, I was involved in the design & development of strategic products for the BICC group as well as technical and management consultancy activities for group members to help modernise their product range. This included designing implementing & testing the electronics & image processing software (patented) for an optical fibre fusion splicer.

Dear Sir/Madam

Mr Kim Booth

Kim Booth has been employed by BICC Research and Engineering for the last three years as a Senior Design Engineer. During this time he has been involved in a variety of projects covering a range of electronic engineering skills. His involvement has mainly been with individual projects where he has provided the total solution to a problem. In some projects, however, he has been responsible for the work of other engineers which has involved project planning and control.

Kim has a very good understanding of electronic design techniques and how they can be applied to solve problems. He is equally well versed in analogue and digital design. His creative approach to problem solving has resulted in a patent granted on a new signal processing technique. While with BICC he was instrumental in setting up a computer network within the Electronics Department. This activity drew on Kim's in-depth knowledge of software techniques and he rapidly became the network expert.

As well as his technical expertise, Kim has been an invaluable member of the team. When asked he was willing to assist younger engineers and contributed well to the general atmosphere of the department. If the occasion arose, I would have no hesitation in re-employing Kim and recommend him most highly to any prospective employer.
